Croatian Single Girder Gantry Crane Case

On March 16, 2022, we received an inquiry from Croatia. This customer is looking for a single girder gantry crane of 5t to 10t lifting capacity, max working high is 10m, span 15m, travelling length 80m.

The client is from the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Rijeka. They will purchase a single girder gantry crane to assist them in their research work.

After the first conversation, we made the first quotation and sent the drawing to customer’s mail box. The customer indicated that the price we gave was acceptable. However, they had height restrictions and wanted to know if we could give a quote for a double girder gantry crane with a higher lifting height. As the customer had no experience in the crane industry, they were not familiar with some of the technical vocabulary and did not know how to check the drawings. In fact, the wire rope cranes we are equipped with are of the low headroom type. Low headroom electric hoists are specially designed to take up less vertical space and are particularly suitable for height-constrained locations. And it is relatively costly and uneconomical to change the gantry crane's main girder from a single to a double girder.
