Portable Gantry Crane for Material Handling

Portable gantry crane for material handling is used to lift and transport smaller items, usually less than 10 tons. They are widely used in the HVAC, machinery moving and fine art installation industries. And it can be outfitted with either a wire rope hoist or a lower capacity chain hoist.

Pay attention to the safe operation of portable gantry crane. 1. When lifting heavy objects, the hook and wire rope shall be vertical, and it is not allowed to drag the lifted object diagonally. 2. The crane shall not swing until the heavy object is lifted off the ground. 3. When lifting or lowering heavy objects, the speed should be uniform and stable. Avoid sharp changes in speed, causing heavy objects to swing in the air and causing danger. When dropping a heavy object, the speed should not be too fast to avoid damaging the heavy object when landing. 4. When the crane is lifting, try to avoid lifting and lowering the boom. When the boom must be lifted and lowered under lifting conditions, the lifting weight shall not exceed 50% of the specified weight. 5. Pay close attention to whether there are obstacles around the crane when it rotates under the lifting condition. If there are obstacles, try to avoid or remove them. 6. No personnel shall stay under the crane boom and try to avoid personnel passing through. 7. The wire rope shall be inspected once a week and recorded. The specific requirements shall be implemented according to the relevant provisions of lifting wire rope. 8. When the crane is running, the operator’s hand shall not leave the controller. In case of sudden failure during operation, immediate measures shall be taken to safely lower the heavy object. Then cut off the power supply for repair. It is forbidden to repair and maintain during operation.
