Single girder overhead cranes, commonly referred to as single girder bridge cranes, use I-beam or a combination of steel and stainless steel as the load-bearing beam for the cable tray. These cranes typically integrate manual hoists, electric hoists, or chain hoists for their lifting mechanisms. A standard electric hoist on a single girder overhead crane involves a wiring system with nine cables. Here’s an analysis of the wiring process:
Purpose of the Nine Wires
Six Control Wires: These wires manage movement in six directions: up, down, east, west, north, and south.
Three Additional Wires: Include the power supply wire, operation wire, and self-locking wire.

Wiring Procedure
Identify Wire Functions: Determine the purpose of each wire. The power supply wire connects to the reverse input line, the output line connects to the stop line, and the stop output line connects to the operation input line.
Install Hoisting Equipment: Attach suspension cables and galvanized steel wires. Secure the power plug and connect the three wires to the left-hand terminals on the lower wiring board.
Conduct Testing: After connection, test the wiring. If the movement direction is incorrect, swap two of the lines and retest until properly configured.
Internal Control Circuit Wiring
Use insulated plastic wires for wiring within the cabin and control cabinets.
Measure the required wire length, including a reserve, and feed the wires into conduits.
Check and label wires according to the schematic diagram, ensuring proper insulation at the conduit’s entry and exit points using protective tubing.
By following these methods, you ensure safe and efficient operation of the crane. For more details, stay tuned to our updates!
