Recently, SEVENCRANE successfully implemented an intelligent semi-gantry crane to support a new steel frog production line in Pakistan. The steel frog, a crucial railway component in switches, enables train wheels to safely cross from one rail track to another. This crane is essential for handling dust removal equipment, ensuring that dust, smoke, and other pollutants generated during ladle pouring are efficiently extracted.
The production line utilizes advanced smart manufacturing technologies such as high-end sensors, integrated control systems, and 5G industrial networks. These innovations minimize impurities and oxides in molten steel, producing cleaner material that meets environmental standards above the national B-grade level. This new equipment enhances steel purity and significantly reduces environmental impact.
To optimize production efficiency, safety, and human-machine interaction, the semi-gantry crane is fitted with dual laser detection systems that provide real-time equipment distance monitoring. This technology ensures that the dust removal vehicle stays within a specified safe range relative to the steel ladle. Absolute encoders precisely position the dust removal equipment, eliminating the need for manual intervention and increasing operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy.
Due to the extreme temperatures involved in steel casting, SEVENCRANE designed the crane with a prefabricated structure featuring a thermal insulation layer under the main girder. All electrical components are high-temperature resistant, and the cables are flame-retardant to ensure the durability of the intelligent semi-gantry crane in challenging environments.
The dust and fumes produced during the manufacturing process are immediately managed by the dust removal system, which safely discharges filtered air back into the facility, complying with indoor air quality standards.
