Key Points Of Electric Chain Hoist Maintenance

1. Main control board

The main control board can integrate the control functions of the gourd onto a printed circuit board. Including zero position protection, phase continuation protection, motor overcurrent protection, encoder protection, and other functions. It also has intelligent recording and alarm functions, which can record the running time and number of starts of the gourd. Loop self-test the faults during the operation of the hoist, and display the fault code alarm or stop the hoist operation through LED.

After the hoist stops running for 3 seconds, the running time H of the gourd and the starting frequency C of the main contactor will be displayed alternately. Based on the operating time and on-site load conditions, the SWP (safe working life) of the hoist can be calculated to determine whether major repairs are needed and whether key components need to be replaced. The lifespan of the contactor can be quantified based on the number of starts C.

2. Lifting ears

Due to the shaking during the lifting operation of the chain hoist, there is significant friction between the lifting ears and the suspension structural components, resulting in wear and tear. After long-term use, if the wear reaches a certain limit and is not replaced, the load-bearing capacity of the lifting ears will greatly decrease, and there is a risk of the entire gourd falling. So it is very important to check the wear data of the lifting ears.

3. Brakes

Brakes are vulnerable parts and critical safety components. Frequent jogging or rapid stopping under heavy loads can accelerate brake damage. The design and installation of brakes need to consider the convenience of inspection and replacement.

4. Chain

Chain is the most critical vulnerable component, directly related to the safety of the load. During use, the diameter of the ring chain decreases due to friction with the sprocket, guide chain, and guide chain plate. Or due to long-term loading, the ring chain may experience tensile deformation, causing the chain links to become longer. During the maintenance process, it is necessary to measure the chain diameter and links of the visually good ring chain to determine its lifespan.
